Top Reasons Why CBD Isn’t Working For You

CBD has become more and more popular throughout the last few years and is continuing to grow in popularity throughout the world. Many people are turning to this natural remedy to improve their moods and memory, manage their pain, and treat various medical conditions. While there remains stipulation as to whether or not this remedy works, there are millions who believe they have experienced improvements in their physical and mental health while using CBD. With that said, if you have tried CBD after hearing all the wonderful effects it has and has not experienced any of your own, you may be wondering why. You may be desperate for relief and left thinking it’s all a scam when nothing changes. Luckily, there are some things that you can change and adjust to narrow down why CBD isn’t working for you.

You Need More Time

The first question you should be asking is how long you have been using CBD products. Some people, can use CBD and receive instant results within minutes or hours of their first use. Others, however, have a naturally high tolerance for CBD and need more time to feel any of its effects. Sometimes it takes weeks or even months before any effects are felt, and even more time for the effects to be full strength. CBD is similar to any other medication such as Tylenol, Clariton, and Advil. These medications rarely work perfectly with the first dose, especially when the symptoms are severe and they need more doses and more time to get into your body and start working. Your best bet with getting the CBD thoroughly into your body so it can work is to try it for a few months before making any changes, then after several months and you still aren’t feeling any effects, then you can begin making adjustments such as changing brands or methods.

Patience is key, especially when it comes to improving your health.

The CBD You Have Is Bad

Just like anything else you get what you pay for. Making sure you find high-quality CBD is just as important as making sure you have high-quality pain medication. Most people don’t buy medication from companies they have never heard about, or have heard negative things about. Make sure to do your research before purchasing CBD products.

The concept of honesty is also a common issue in the industry. Many companies will claim there is CBD in their products when in reality there isn’t. Low-quality CBD would play a major factor in the reason you aren't experiencing any benefits.

Your Dosage Isn't High Enough

This is the most common issue among beginners. When you are just starting out with CBD products and working on becoming more accustomed to them, it can be difficult to know what dosage is right for you and your situation. Depending on your natural tolerance as well as what you're using the CBD for will play major roles in determining which dosage you need. Body weight, the concentration of the CBD form, and your body’s chemistry will also need to be taken into consideration. Most people have a “sweet spot” that they find by starting with a very low dose and then slowly increasing. Some people also believe maintaining a baseline is easiest at stimulating the endocannabinoid system, resulting in faster-acting effects.

Unfortunately, the dosage is almost always determined by trial and error and requires patience to receive the maximum benefit.

You Need A Different Form

Not only does the brand and company that made the product come into play when figuring out why the CBD isn’t working, but so does the type of product you are using. Every form of CBD affects people differently and some forms are easier for companies to adjust dosages with while others are not. Vaping and tinctures are some of the quickest ways to get the CBD into the bloodstream with very little time and are often stronger. While topicals and edibles take more time while getting through your digestive tract and often aren’t as strong. Some forms may be quicker and stronger for some people than others as well. CBD products and dosage is essentially a guessing game and you'll usually need to make adjustments so you can experience the most effects. While switching between different forms of CBD, be sure to give your body enough time to get used to one before switching it. Some people take longer to experience effects than others.

Your Body Has A High Tolerance

It is a common misconception that CBD is a miracle drug and can cure-all for everybody. Unfortunately, this is not the case. Some people have a natural resistance to CBD and are not able to feel the effects of it no matter what form or what dosage they use. This can be due to your metabolism, genetics, or chemistry and it is normal. There's no such thing as a universal treatment that helps every single person that uses it. The best fix for this is to talk to your doctor and see if there is anything else you can do to promote feeling the effects of CBD. It may just not be for you and you need to find other treatment options.

Some people may not have natural resistance but have a naturally high tolerance. If this is the case, you just need to change between forms and doses of CBD to find the right one for you.
